Mirror Lake
Latitude 37.7477 | Longitude -119.5495 Mirror Lake is a small reminder of a large glacial lake that filled Yosemite Valley at the end of the Ice Age. The lake in Tenaya Canyon is slowly disappearing due to sediment deposits, but is still impressive in it’s location, being situated between North Dome and Half Dome.

Yosemite Falls, One
Latitude 37.7504 | Longitude -119.5960 At an impressive 739 meters from top to bottom, Yosemite Falls is the highest measured waterfall in North America, and the sixth highest in the world. The Lower Falls, shown in this image, see the water fall the final 98 meters before it flows into the nearby Merced River.

Wapama Falls, One
Latitude 37.9635 | Longitude -119.7660 Wapama Falls is the biggest of the two waterfalls situated on the northern side of Hetch Hetchy Valley within Yosemite National Park. Water from Lake Vernon, a few miles north, cascades down two primary drops and finds its way through the tangle of rocks at the base.

Latitude 37.9637 | Longitude -119.7655 This image captures the lower section of Wapama Falls and the final moments of the 335 meter descent into the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir below. It was quite a challenge to keep the spray off the lens, but I enjoyed the soundtrack from the water cascading around near my feet.

Kolana Rock, One
Latitude 37.9599 | Longitude -119.7750 Kolana Rock is situated in Hetch Hetchy Valley within Yosemite National Park, California. The impressive rock feature climbs to 1,759.92 meters above sea level, and is viewed here a short distance from the O’Shaughnessy Dam along the Wapama Falls Trail.

Cracked Ice
Latitude 53.1658 | Longitude -1.0573 This small lake is located within the area of Sherwood Forest, made famous through the historical connections with Robin Hood. The bitterly cold British weather froze the lake over, but as it melted, resident swans helped create this impressive display of cracked ice.

Icy River
Latitude 53.1701 | Longitude -1.0515 This frozen river in the area of Sherwood Forest was lit by the early morning sun creating long shadows and highlighting the markings left by sitting ducks. A closer inspection of the top right of the image reveals the footprints left by animals.
